Help strengthen decision makers’ understanding of what it means to have a disability.

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed an information gap between businesses, organizations, and municipalities and their ability to serve the disability community. To address this gap, the Disability Foundation, in partnership with Justason Market Intelligence (JMI), has created DisabilityPanel.ca, an opinion research panel consisting solely of people with disabilities and their caregivers.

Without accurate information, decision makers will remain unprepared, and accessibility will continue to be something to strive for rather than the norm. Through the panel, we intend to offer them valuable information about how people with disabilities experience the pandemic and beyond.

Funded in part by the City of Vancouver, the panel’s current initiative is recruiting Vancouver residents with disabilities to share their experiences during the pandemic by completing a series of online surveys. The findings will be shared with the city to provide them with valuable information about how their residents are coping during this time.

If you are located outside the City of Vancouver, you are still encouraged to register for the panel! You will be notified when a future research initiative pertinent to your location takes place.

You and your loved ones deserve to have your particular needs, opinions, and experiences heard. As a member of the panel, an honorarium will be offered for your time in the form of a gift card or cash, depending on the opportunity. Register below to take part in the online surveys, focus groups, and participate in the discussions about a variety of topics relevant to your day-to-day life.
