Making Post-Secondary Education More Inclusive with STEPS Forward

September 23 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm PDT

Individual in wheelchair reaches for a book out of a bookshelf, while another person stands just behind her.

Interested in learning more about accessible post-secondary education? Join Lauren Matthews on September 23rd from 12-1pm PT to hear all about STEPS Forward’s BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-Secondary Education project, and how it can open up you or your child’s educational trajectories!

This initiative is done in collaboration with nine major universities across BC in order to make post-secondary education more accessible to students with disabilities.

Lauren Matthews is a Co-Director of BC Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (STEPS Forward). She oversees the coordination between partner campuses, staff learning, professional development, and the day-to-day safeguarding of best practices in supporting students with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities to get the most out of their post-secondary education across the province. Her work also includes collaborations with university leadership, family groups, local school districts, and applicants interested in pursuing their post-secondary education with support from STEPS Forward.

Please note that this live Zoom event will be recorded and streamed to Facebook and YouTube, where it will remain available for our community to enjoy after the session has ended. Closed captioning for this event will be available on these platforms.
