Creative Writing with Emily Gillespie

NEW to ConnecTra programming, CREATIVE WRITING classes! Join us on Tuesdays from 4 – 5 PM PT!
Join author Emily Gillespie for a weekly creative writing class for short lessons, followed by writing prompts to get your pen or keyboard moving. This class suits new and emerging writers and anyone who wants to get creative with us.
Topics covered include writing memoirs, creative non-fiction, poetry, short stories, character development, dialogue, editing, and more. There will be opportunities to share and get positive feedback and writing support.
Emily Gillespie (she/they) is a mad and autistic author, disability activist, and professional daydreamer. Gillespie has a BA in Gender Equality and Social Justice, an MA in Critical Disability Studies and a certificate in Creative Writing.
Their writing explores themes of memory, identity and mental health journeys. Emily enjoys working in community spaces and examining individual and collective experiences. In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, walking, dancing, swimming and people-watching in cafes throughout Toronto.
